🪡 Discover the powerful narrative woven by "Delta Triennial" artist Letitia Huckaby in her works “Mr. Keeby” and “Ms. Woods” – now on view at AMFA.
Huckaby’s photographs – printed on cotton fabric and finished with red embroidery – explore the legacy of Africatown and its founders through their living descendants, connecting past to present. Through subject matter, materiality, and process, Huckaby examines history's contemporary connection to the Black experience.
“The way the image is created is sort of a collaboration between myself and the sitter,” Huckaby explains, highlighting the intimate and reflective process behind her practice.
🗣️ To hear more from Huckaby and other “Delta Triennial” invited artists, come to our free Artist Talk on Thursday, July 25, at 6:00 p.m.

Artist Christian Dinh honors and celebrates Vietnamese-American culture in his work, “All Seasons, Safe and Sound” – now on view in the "Delta Triennial."
Two delicate porcelain hands sit atop a silk pillow, created as an “act of remembrance,” shedding light on the often-overlooked stories of his community.
“Vietnamese culture specifically is now this integrated pillar in American society,” Dinh reflects, confronting the stigmatized view of the nail salon industry with what it actually is: a success story worthy of commemoration.

Demery’s large-scale windchime – intentionally hung at eye level – brings the viewer face to face with the silhouette of George Stinney, the youngest person in the US to be executed in the 20th century at only 14 years of age.
“When I saw that image of this young person,” recalls Demery, “and I saw myself in that, I said ‘How would I want to be remembered?’”
