Artist Statement: “I create visually stunning, imaginative works on paper, canvas, and metal through bold use of color, strong design, and an enthusiastic approach to painting. Richly layered, colorful passages are the interwoven components that energize my paintings. I seek to capture a unique representation of landscape through abstraction in my exploration of color, line, texture and collage. The thrill of exploration of color relationships satisfies my passionate endeavors of painting and offers finished works that exude energy.”

Featured Artist: Winston Taylor’s work for upcoming show, June 4th-5th, 6-9pm.

Artist Statement: “There are a variety of styles in this show, some I’ve used for years and some are new for me. I’ve included a couple of black on black stone polished vessels, a saggar fired piece and several that are recent discoveries. Over the past year I began using more color on my work with the combination of underglazes and colored micas. I have enjoyed using found driftwood with unique forms and using them without altering their shapes or surfaces. When juxtaposed with a vessel the combination seems to work. Also relatively new is the adaptation of the labyrinth pattern to the three dimensional form. The labyrinth has long been used as a meditational tool and represents the idea that our lives should have a focus on a pathway of forward positive progress.
