Currently on vacation and will be dropping all the cool photos from Cali soon but for now I had to hop on here and share the Nomadic Expressions series again! I’ve had the prints available but finally finished getting the original pieces uploaded on my site. The cool thing with buying an original is that you are getting the raw work itself - all the ink blotches and rubs and smears that get cleaned from the prints. I realized recently that I have, in some ways, become my mother. I recall many road trips, hikes, or various outings where the entire family would have to pause while my mother stopped to take photos of a tree. It may not have even been as large of a thing as my memory makes it out to be… but I certainly recall many trees inspiring my mother and causing her to pause and collect evidence of the simplistic but intricate beauty she had stumbled upon.
And now here I am.
Incapable of a downtown stroll without pausing to admire the texture of an old building. Constantly caught looking up at peeling ceilings or down at the eroding sidewalks. I applaud my own daughter’s patience. I’m thankful for this habit from my mother. She taught me throughout the years to appreciate the small things, all the little glimmers of joy that hide away in the everyday 🩶
Sunday mornings are normally very chill around here but this morning is a happy whirl as I load up and prep for the ! If you are in the Little Rock area I hope you stop by today. It’s looking to be a beautiful day to grab a cold one and peruse all the booths from local artists! I’ve done some markets before with my but this will be my first time to be set up with my abstracts. Hope to see you there!

I was able to finish these two miniatures last night. I’m really enjoying playing with these color combinations - the warm clay red and the hushed mossy green. The light linen color was added on a whim and I love how it resulted in perfectly balancing the darker hues on the canvas! Where could you see these hanging? I keep envisioning them on a narrow wall in a cozy country kitchen…

“Cascade” would work so well in a room of minimal beiges, whites… and really any warm neutrals! What I love about this painting is that it brings a level of intrigue with rich textures while not going so far as to distract away from the room as a whole.
Yesterday was my first day in a long time to have NOTHING to do. Or really to have no obligations of things to do. No local events, no social promises of brunch, even the laundry was caught up. I spent the day as I pleased and as it turns out days like that are often my most productive days.
Along with reorganizing my living room, rearranging paintings on the walls, and working puzzles with the 6 year old, I was able to complete a few miniature abstracts! This is one of several canvas panels I started on. I’ll reveal the rest in my email newsletter later this week!
I never would’ve thought that I’d like the way my abstracts look printed on clothing but gave me the nudge and here I am having to say “ahhh yep, you were right” because these turned out AH-MAZING 🤩 And it’s only fitting that the idea man himself be the one to model the first samples!

Life can be the muse for the canvas but vice versa, the canvas can be the muse for life. We often think of art being created as a way to represent one’s surroundings or even their inner world. But we forget that art can be created to serve as inspiration for the world you want to create.
The canvas is the first place I go to create my life as I envision it to be. My paintings are simple, warm, earthy. Just as I want my home to be. Each piece is imperfect yet beautiful, celebrating realness, and holding space for raw truth… just as I want to do.
These paintings are the living, breathing blueprint for my life. I hope you’ll find some level of inspiration that you can bring into your own life and home ✨
This series is all about finding playfulness within our adulthood. My six year old daughter constantly voices her frustration that my color schemes are dull and boring and well… “icky” 😂 I think as adults we certainly have a tendency to begin gravitating towards neutral colors. I have great admiration for the adults who still hold space and fascination for bold colors in their wardrobe and home design.
In a lot of my work there’s a serious undertone that can come with the use of neutral palettes and minimal elements. So this series was a challenge to myself to break free and just PLAY. Loose swirling lines and random marks bring to mind childhood scribbles and remind me to simply ENJOY creating.

What would be your go to color to pair with gray? I often see it accented with pops of bright color but I’m personally all about keeping things neutral with beiges and tans. There was a time in my life where I paired lots of gray clothes with gold jewelry and it worked surprisingly well. I may have to come up with some art along those lines 🤔
