This Black History Month the Flat Rock Archive Inc. honors the trailblazing legacy of Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander.
A scholar, attorney, and fearless advocate for civil rights, Alexander broke barriers as the first Black woman to earn a PhD in economics and the first to practice law in Pennsylvania. Her life’s work reminds us that history is not just remembered, it’s built through courage, brilliance, and persistence.
