Small World Gallery

Small World Gallery Home of National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson and IBISwoman Jewelry. All are made in the gallery. Sometimes these may be completed in the moment.

Visitors will find that Jim’s many explorations of global issues and landscapes begin and end at the gallery, situated on the brick Main Street of Lindsborg, a culturally rich town of 3,500 in central Kansas. On display are Jim’s large-scale prints of recent work, as well as posters and greeting cards from favorite subjects and locations. Jim, a photographer for the magazine since 1984, said, “I f

eel lucky to have a base for my travels in a small town with big creative energy.” He also teaches workshops, accompanies cruises, and delivers keynote lectures. Also in the gallery Kathy Richardson and Briana Zimmerling offer a browsable collection of antique, vintage and contemporary glass, stone and metals in their distinctive jewelry line called IBISwoman. Guests may select from earrings, bracelets and necklaces from the gallery display tables or collaborate on a made-to-order piece. Kathy Richardson said, “We also love to help our guests discover other great Lindsborg shops, galleries and attractions, as well as our favorite places across
Kansas.”

We love this rollicking sample from last week's Smoky Valley Chamber Music Festival in Lindsborg. Violinist Caroline Beckman delivered an animated rendition of "Hoedown" from Rodeo by Aaron Copland. Feel free to tap your toes! -- video by Jim Richardson, Photographer

Here's an eye catching scene from the neighborhood just north of our Lindsborg business district. We do appreciate individual touches of fun and color that speak to our town and its people. Thanks, neighbors.

Today is the last day of the inaugural Smoky Valley Chamber Music Festival with a finale performance at Presser Hall at 3 p.m. today. *So much energy* around this cadre of young international musicians! We are grateful.

Also love how the Lindsborg area supported the dream of violinist Caroline Beckman, who wanted to introduce colleagues and professors from UMKC and other fine musicians to her hometown. Big hugs to Caroline and her family -- including from Lindsborg educator and artist Shelley Carlson.

The first night of the Smoky Valley Chamber Music Festival swept a full house off its feet in Lindsborg last night. 🎻 🎼
Extraordinary performances by the Seville String Quartet -- plus a whole week of free performances to come from many other international ensembles and musicians.

Jim Richardson, Photographer caught a clip of festival founder and Lindsborg native Caroline Beckman as she thanked those who are supporting her dream of this festival. 🌻💫

Check the schedule at www.lindsborgartscouncil.com. You're gonna want to say you were there, folks.

We are grateful for last night's rain -- and to have evaded tornadoes and swarms of freelance storm chasers.
