Meetings and prep [ and canceled plans] for Mule Day--so I forgot to show off the front of the Park. LCHS wanted to join in the 250th celebration.

Mule Days has been postpone till next Saturday the 17th. Thank you to all the members that were planning on coming in the rain and helping. If you want to help next week-- you're welcome to or if you just want to come out and enjoy --We do have it covered for next week --the turpentine still will be on display and gun raffle tickets will be sold.

Our monthly meeting is this Wednesday, October 7th, at noon, our traditional pot luck luncheon followed by a business meeting with Pioneer Day on the agenda. We'll be taking the still over to Mule Day on Saturday, so come see us there!

History in the Park is THIS THURSDAY! 7 pm, October 1st, Dr. William Rawlings will present, "An Ordinary Murder", a true crime story that took place in Georgia. If you like Forensic Files, you'll love this presentation. We'll have dinner beforehand at El Sombrero's in Lincolnton at 5:30 pm. Here's a picture of Dr. Rawlings.

Vendor applications are NOW OPEN for the Lincoln County Historical Society’s 2026 Pioneer Days!

We’re looking for arts & crafts vendors, specialty vendors, makers, and more to be part of one of our favorite community events of the year.

Pioneer Day will feature family entertainment, antique cars, a tractor show, Southern cooking, barn dancing, living history demonstrations, and more!

A special thank you to everyone at the LCHS meeting for sending me lunch today. Very special shout out to all the officers and directors- for stepping up to cover for me- and for still including me and making me feel a little useful. I have 1 week before my spine specialist appointment. Life remains on hold until then. This "rumble with the Kayak" has been a humbling experience experience. Please continue to include me in your prayers.
