rich history of Africa’s art and culture. To promote awareness, an understanding and appreciation of
African immigrants within the Midwestern population. will have a deep commitment to increasing awareness, understanding and appreciation of African art and culture in Nebraska. The organization will provid

e a place for everyone of all ages and abilities to develop and learn about the richness and diversity of the African heritage through history, arts and culture. The organization plans to offer a dynamic, unique and constantly evolving African art collection along with educational programs. Although we will incorporate the entire fine African arts into our programs, our focus will be on visual African art. Most activities will be hands on, open-ended, and enjoyed on a pre-scheduled basis with some walk-ins as well. will offer an art experience to all that increases awareness and interest in the African arts that will be original and one of a kind. The programs will include lectures, film series, sculptures, plays and other venues for exploring the art, artists, cultures, history and current affairs of Africa. The organization will utilize the existing connections of the Board of Directors to obtain artwork from Africa and exhibits in the U.S. Our program will encompass the development of interpretation through exhibitions. Each piece of artwork the museum displays has a specific meaning behind it. will be able to interpret the meaning behind the work. Working artists in the museum can provide hands on experience and education to museum attendees. Artists accepted by the organization will volunteer their time. The museum will provide an outlet for students from elementary through college to learn about African culture. Throughout the museum, MAMA! will have visual artworks including sculptures of African culture. Our goal is to serve as a diversity consultant to schools. We will have hands on artwork attendees may touch. We intend to encourage schools to bring groups for museum tours and field trips. In addition, we will offer African dance classes and educational workshops.
