We were honored to welcome a group of Walton Arts Volunteers to the Arkansas Country Doctor Museum this month—a 10-person tour from the Walton Arts Center, including Mike and Jacque Allen. The tour was led by longtime board member Mike Allen, who shared his deep knowledge of the museum’s history and collections. The group enjoyed exploring our wide array of medical artifacts, historic equipment, and learning about the legacy of rural healthcare in Arkansas. Before departing, they gathered for a group photo in the Educational Building to commemorate the visit. We always enjoy connecting with community members and organizations who value the importance of preserving our state's medical heritage.

Today at the ACDM we were thrilled to host two summer camp classes from Lincoln Middle School! The students and teachers walked down from the school and enjoyed a guided tour of the Museum—including fan favorites like the 1924 Model T and the 1886 Studebaker carriage.

The Arkansas Country Doctor Museum welcomes tours of all ages and group sizes. Feel free to call ahead to schedule, or just stop by Wednesday through Saturday from 1–4 PM—we’d love to have you!

LPN Students from Poteau Visit the Museum

Last week, the Kiamichi Tech college from Poteau brought a group of 20 Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) students to tour the museum. The students were exceptionally kind and respectful, showing genuine appreciation to our board members who guided them through the exhibits.

They thoroughly enjoyed the visit and expressed how much they could relate to many of the museum's displays, especially given their aspirations in the nursing field. It was a pleasure to host such an enthusiastic and thoughtful group.

We’re excited to share that they plan to return with a new group each spring—and we at the ACDM are already looking forward to welcoming them back!

We are very proud to present the Audio Tour Project from the Lincoln East program! This portion of the tour was started last year and completed over the summer. There are a total of 12 stops you can listen to on the tour.
This year, they plan to add even more stops, including a reading of one of Peggy McCormick’s poems and a reading on doctors' bags exhibit. Stay tuned for more updates!
