Our Heroes Military Museum There is no cost to visit the Museum! The mission of the “Our Heros Military Museum” is to provide for the betterment of all people in understanding U.S.

Military History and what it means to America. 55 W Broadway, Lincoln, ME The purpose for which this Corporation is organized is to engage in any such lawful act and/or activity under the General Law of Maine other than the banking business, trust company business or the practice of a profession not permitted to be incorporated by and pursuant to the Maine Corporations Statute. Said corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Military History and what it means to America. To provide military historical information, education to the public and to other institutions, and for all people served in the community.

This is reportedly the last photograph of these men before they were killed 32 years ago today in Mogadishu, Somalia, 1993. Standing, left to right: Brad Halling, who survived, Gary Gordon, and Randy Shughart. Kneeling: Daniel Busch.

Halling, Gordon, and Shughart were the three Delta snipers providing cover fire from the air over Super Six-Four, the second Black Hawk shot down on October 3rd, as hostile Somalis converged on the crash site. All three volunteered to be inserted on the ground to protect the surviving crew. Halling had already taken over the helicopter's minigun after the crew chief was wounded, and wasn't inserted with the other two. Gordon and Shughart were, dropped roughly 100 meters from the wreckage with only their personal weapons and sidearms. They fought their way to the aircraft, pulled pilot Michael Durant from the cockpit, and held the perimeter until their am******on ran out. Shughart fell first, then Gordon, the last radio call reportedly just "last mag." Shughart had already handed Gordon's r***e to Durant before he died. Both were posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, the first since Vietnam.

Daniel Busch had been part of the first crash site, Super Six-One, surviving the impact alongside fellow sniper Jim Smith and defending the wreckage before he was killed in the fighting that followed. He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star.

Never forgotten.
