The picture with the plant is maiden grass, which Native Americans would use for fishing tools, similar to that found by the Kelly House!

During the Biodiversity Festival, local experts will lead walks & talks on birds, the Blackstone River, animal skulls, trees, and everything in between.

Today, we want to tell you about Southern New England Mushroom Hunting & Ryan Bouchard, who will be teaching us about mushrooms. At 2:30, you can join Ryan on a guided walk to learn which mushrooms live in your national park. We also invite you to see the Mushroom Hunting group's fun and colorful slideshow, which will be projected in Capt. Wilbur Kelly House Museum.

You won't want to miss this tour--we hear Ryan is a "fungi!"

DEB (with Peek-a-boo & Dante)

What do you like about walking? It's peaceful and beautiful.

What's your favorite part of the bike path? The tow path. I like the overhang. There's a canopy of trees above you.

How long have you been coming to the bike path? One year.

Any improvements you'd like to see? I wish they had receptacles for pet waste.

What's your favorite season on the bike path? Fall. It's colorful and the birds are so beautiful and there are so many kinds of birds. Since when do you get to walk up to a heron and it stays there?

STEVE & MARTHA

What is your favorite part of the bike path? STEVE: Martin Street Bridge because I can look over and see the water going under the bridge. MARTHA: Martin Street Bridge offers such a beautiful view of the Blackstone River and its wildlife.

How long have you been coming to the bike path? MARTHA: More than 8 years.

What improvements would you like to see on the bike path? STEVE: In the winter, I'd like to see it plowed so you can walk. Also, the trees removed from the canal. MARTHA: My biggest wish would be for people to stop littering.

What is your favorite season on the bike path? STEVE: Fall. It's cooler and the leaves are turning and there's fruit on the trees. Also, spring because everything is turning green. MARTHA: All the seaons. I love to see the seasons change from one to another.

What's your favorite time of day on the bike path. STEVE: Morning. It's nicer, cooler, fewer people, and all the birds are out. MARTHA: Any time of day.

What do you like about walking? MARTHA: It balances my energy, my life, and refreshes the spirit. It provides so many benefits physiologically.
