Progress update on Mandy Sirofchuck’s latest commision, a stained glass front door featuring a raven!

These are the FINAL pieces to be painted and fired, then Mandy can begin leading and soldering the panel together! 🤩 In the image below, Mandy is applying glass paint, a combination of chemicals including lead, to a piece of the window, which will then be added to the kiln and fired to make the paint permanent. Prior to firing, the paint can come off in dust particles, so Mandy must wear a mask and keep her studio well-ventilated during this stage. Stay tuned for the next update!

Painting WITH Glass was a huge hit! As usual, both sessions were full and brimming with creativity! Here’s a peek of the morning session’s pieces in progress!

Many students opted for the panel over the 2 nightlights and chose Christmas themes. We can’t wait to see how they look once fired in our kiln!
