- Long ago, in the 1700s, Arabian horses were imported from the Arabian desert or were given to European royalty by rulers of the Middle East and Northern Africa as gifts and token of their esteem. Europeans were in awe of the small, swift desert horses and bred them to their large, less spirited horses to improve their looks, their speed, and their stamina. This was the dawn of the Thoroughbred Race Horse. Most light horse breeds today were developed with the use of Arabian horses and you can often see their influence even today. Homer Davenport encountered his first Arabian horses at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. In 1906, President Roosevelt supported his trip to the Middle East where Davenport undertook the most significant importation of desert bred Arabian horses to date. at the Kentucky Horse Park

Early American Sires Exhibit: RASEYN

At the same time Jadaan was making his film debut, another notable stallion was making his way to Kellogg Ranch in California. *Raseyn, a son of the famed stallion Skowronek, was bred by Lady Wentworth. In the U.S., *Raseyn became a very prolific sire, producing 135 foals. He routinely starred in the Kellogg Sunday shows and later followed Jadaan to Hollywood. *Raseyn soon became the public face of the Arabian horse in America. at the Kentucky Horse Park

"The Golden Years" Exhibit: *PADRON

Born in the Netherlands of Russian and Crabbet breeding, the charismatic chestnut stallion *Padron was imported to the U.S. in 1978 as a yearling. His show career culminated in being named U.S. National Champion Stallion in 1982. He became a very popular sire over the next two decades, eventually siring 838 purebreds. His get were popular abroad as well. Most notably, his sire line was assured by his son Padrons Psyche, third all-time leading sire of foals with over 1,100 get so far.
