I absolutely love this! ❤️ This summer, we’ve been creating lots of our own board games, using imagination, problem-solving, and plenty of inventive thinking—but this student took the challenge to a whole new dimension!

Why make a board game when you can build your own 3-D pinball machine?! 🎯🎨

A big cardboard box, a collection of odds and ends, and a whole lot of creativity turned into this amazing creation. This is exactly the kind of imaginative, “What if I tried this?” thinking we love to see at Art Studio 760.

Hey guys! I finished my Hampton Beach painting! 🎨🌅

There’s something about that late-summer light when the sun is getting lower, the beach is still warm, and everyone seems to be lingering just a little longer before the day — and summer — comes to an end.

For this painting, I imagined the Adult Artists of Art Studio 760 spending a summer day together at the beach. They’re all here — painting, walking along the water, swimming, talking, and enjoying the sunset together.

I think that’s what I like most about this painting. It isn’t only about a beautiful evening at Hampton Beach. It captures some of the friendship and camaraderie that has grown around the studio over the years.

A warm summer evening, a group of artists, and one last chance to soak up that summer glow. ☀️🎨

Music Time with Ms. Turner was so much fun! 🎶🥁

Check out our Bucket Band! The students decorated bucket hats, created their own drums from little mini buckets, and then put their instruments to work making music together.

It was such a great collaboration of art and music—creating a musical instrument, experimenting with sound, learning to use rhythm sticks, and finding the beat together.

A big thank you to Ms. Turner for bringing music, movement, creativity, and lots of fun to Art Studio 760! 🎨🎵

From painting and mixed media to cardboard creations, pipe-cleaner sculptures, rocks, mini canvases, and even inventing our own games, the studio has been full of experimenting, building, problem-solving, and imagination.
Sometimes the best art happens when we put a variety of materials on the table and see where the ideas take us!

Meet “Autograph” the Giraffe! 🦒🎨 We recently received this wonderful giraffe sculpture, and our students had a great time giving him a colorful Art Studio 760 makeover—and the perfect name: Autograph!

A rare sighting at Adult Open Studio! 🎨

Every oil painter has a routine, and Gary has his down to a science. His paint tubes are organized, his painting box is ready to go, and his Gamblin solvent-free medium is always close at hand.

But last night, he arrived with something we don’t see every week—a freshly scraped palette! It even smelled like fresh linseed oil, ready for the next painting session.

Gary looked at it and said, “Take a picture. It’s not going to last long!” 😄

We couldn’t resist documenting this historic moment.

It’s these little traditions, routines, and moments of humor that make Wednesday Adult Open Studio such a fun place to paint together.

🕰️ Time Machine Tuesday: Let’s take a trip to France in the year 1889!!!

This week, one of our teen artists is creating his own rendition of Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night.

Our student started by blocking in the larger shapes and colors to create a strong foundation. Once that was established, it was time to build the painting with expressive marks and energetic lines.

This project also sparked a fun conversation in the studio. We wondered what Vincent might have thought about today’s art supplies. While he painted with traditional brushes and oil paints, we think he might have enjoyed experimenting with modern acrylic paint markers. Their variety of colors and ease of use make them a wonderful tool for expressive mark-making.

Art history isn’t just about looking backward—it’s about learning from artists who came before us while exploring the creative tools we have today.

Take a moment today to slow down and really look.

What’s sitting on your windowsill? A vase of flowers? A favorite plant? A collection of treasures? Maybe just the light pouring through the glass.

Artists learn to see by observing ordinary things in extraordinary ways.

If you have five minutes today, grab a sketchbook and make a quick sketch — just enjoy the process of looking closely.
