Miss Czech-Slovak Illinois The Miss Czech-Slovak Illinois queens are crowned by UMS, for the National pageant in Wilber Nebraska

The Miss Czech-Slovak Illinois page celebrates young women who promote their Czech, Moravian and Slovak heritage. The Illinois state pageant is sponsored by our parent organization, United Moravian Societies. UMS has a long history of supporting young women to promote their culture through events and dancing in traditional costumes of their ancestors. Since the 1940s and 1950s United Moravian Societies has named a young woman to be Kralovna UMS. This page will celebrate that history and also share information related to the National Miss Czech & Slovak pageant that is held every August, in Wilber Nebraska.

A few moments from our 87th Moravian Day and 2026-2027 Illinois crownings.

Photos feature the new Illinois Czech Slovak Junior Queen, Hana Fitzpatrick with her friends and family.

Photos of the new Illinois Czech Slovak Princess, Claudia Veverka with friends and family.

And lastly photos of Klara Sebestik the out-going 2025-2026 Miss Czech Slovak IL Queen.

We were unable to officially crown the 2026-2027 Miss Czech Slovak Illinois Queen, as Li'ianela Hake was sadly ill and not able to attend the Moravian Day event. Instead we showcased her crown and sash, which will be presented to her in December at the UMS Mikulas event on 12/5. More info to come on that make-up crowning!

Congrats to all the young ladies selected to represent Illinois in 2026-2027. Can't wait to see you grow in the year ahead!

Day 2 of the Miss Czech Slovak US Pageant was as exciting as the first day! Klara performed her talent: an oratory poetry reading in the Czech language and then her translated English version, of a poem written by Jaroslav Seifert. She really showed her creative heart!

Congratulations to all of the contestants, you are all true cultural embassadors for your state!

"Once a Queen, always a Queen!" Welcome to the sisterhood of team Alumni! 🥰
