We honor a lady who has graciously given more than 30 years as the living liaison between our hometown and those who come to visit the exhibit dedicated to its most famous native son. Since the inception of the Jim Henson Delta Boyhood Exhibit in 1991, this “Queen of Green” has been the acclaimed “amphibian ambassador,” effortlessly expounding on all things Kermit and Muppet to the thousands who have come through the museum during her tenure. Not only has she shared an enthralling story of a creative little boy and his famous frog friend, but she has also thoughtfully crafted the environment that ensured frog fans departed with memories and mementos to cherish for a lifetime. This fact is not only attested to by the steady stream of compliments, accolades, and fan mail she has received each year, but also by her hometown family and friends who wish to express gratitude to Emily Kearney for her dedication and devotion to Leland.
