The Roy Bailey Black History Museum and Education Center with The Wilson County Black History Committee to Honor African American Athletes: Call for Participants

Lebanon, TN – Wilson County is preparing a historic recognition event to celebrate and honor African American athletes who made their mark on high school, college, and professional teams from 1950 to 2020.

This special evening will shine a light on the dedication, skill, and determination of the men and women whose talents on the field, court, and track broke barriers, inspired future generations, and brought pride to Wilson County.

Organizers are inviting all African American athletes from Wilson County—whether you played under the Friday night lights, competed on the hardwood, ran the track, or took your skills to college or the pros—to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime gathering. Families of athletes who have passed on are also encouraged to participate so their legacies may be honored.
