131. The Anri carvers of Northern Italy produced many figural nutcrackers but none more fascinating than this one whose eyes change color when the nut is cracked. Slow growing cembra pine was used.

129. Christian Ulbricht hand carved this woodpecker for the museum. It is reminiscent of the first woodpecker made by his father as a gift to his mother to honor his birth in 1933.

128. We found this colorful nutcracker in a shop in Oberammergau. It is a copy of an earlier nutcracker which was in itself a copy carved in the likeness of a statue of a 17th century Spanish soldier.
