Leadville Heritage Museum The Leadville Museum featuring the history of the people, arts, architecture of Leadville. The museum is open May through October.

The current home of the Lake County Civic Center Association's Heritage museum was a Carnegie Library, in serving as a public library until 1971. It was named for Andrew Carnegie, whose donation made the opening possible. Today the Carnegie Library building houses a museum, dedicated to preserving the history of Leadville. Exhibits include period, Victorian furniture from the Boom Days, mining art

ifacts, Camp Hale mementos and a model replica of the Leadville Ice Palace. The Leadville Ice Palace, built in the winter of 1895-96, was the largest ice palace in the world. The Lake County Civic Center Association also owns the Colorado Mountain History Collection which is housed at the Lake County Public Library and is available online. The Old Church, Presbyterian in affiliation and opened in 1889, is located at the corner of Harrison and Eighth. The striking architecture includes a Gothic bell tower and elaborate, hand-painted decorative glass windows.
