On November 14 Coffee Station Trading Post at the Museum of the Great Plains in Lawton, Oklahoma, is sponsoring a program on frontier soldiers of the 1830s, focusing on the Dragoon expedition of 1834 to the Wichita Mountains near Lawton.

I will be participating, along with my pards Paul R. Rosewitz, David N Martin and others. If you are able to portray Dragoons or Infantry, come join us. If you can't do either of those, come visit Coffee Station. Will Emrick who is in charge of Coffee Station would enjoy your visit. He is one of the best living history interpreters I know.

A Night on the Great Plains Postponed to Spring 2027

Due to the ongoing burn ban in Comanche County, the Friends of the Museum of the Great Plains have made the difficult decision to postpone A Night on the Great Plains, originally scheduled for October 16, 2026.

The event will now take place in Spring 2027, with a new date to be announced.

We sincerely appreciate the support and understanding of our guests, sponsors, and community partners. We look forward to gathering together next spring for an unforgettable evening celebrating the Great Plains and supporting the Museum.

Ticket holders will receive additional information directly regarding their reservations.
