The Laurens County Museum is dedicated to promoting, presenting, researching, and preserving the history of our great county and region. From artifacts of indigenous people from five extensive collections in the First Nations Hall to the modern entertainers that were born and raised here, Laurens County's history is filled with landmarks and influential people. Specific display areas in the museum

are the Witherspoon Room, First Nations Hall, a hall for visiting exhibits and different aspects of Life in Laurens County - Worshiping, Learning, Serving, and Working. The museum's Revolutionary War lecture series and artifacts on display from some of at least fourteen Revolutionary War battle and skirmish sites in Laurens County highlight the role Laurens County citizens played in the fight for liberty from Great Britain. Come explore the museum and experience the rich heritage of Laurens County!

Construction is complete, and we are officially back open! In just a few weeks, this room will be home to our new Revolutionary War exhibit, and we can’t wait for everyone to see it. Be sure to mark your calendars for the grand opening and ribbon cutting on June 28th at 5 PM!

Happy International Museum Day to the Laurens County Museum! 💙

Since 2005, the museum has worked to preserve and share the rich history of Laurens County through exhibits, artifacts, and stories from our community. In 2022, the museum found its permanent home in the historic Witherspoon Building, continuing its mission to keep local history alive for future generations.

Be sure to check out their new Revolutionary War exhibit, Life & Liberty in Laurens County, opening June 28! The exhibit will feature major battles in Laurens County, interactive displays, children’s activities, and more. 🇺🇸
