They gave us a day…
but stripped the story.
Memorial Day didn’t start with barbecues and sales.
It started with freed Black men, women, and children honoring the dead—
cleaning graves, singing, and remembering what this country tried to forget.

Then history got rewritten…
faces removed…
credit reassigned.
Now everybody celebrates—
but few know who started it.
This ain’t just remembrance…
this is revelation.
