Take a look at these photographs we uncovered recently in our archives. They show a previous version of the bridge & intersection of the Lincoln Highway (route 30) and route 217. These photos were taken in 1960, when the Kingston Bridge as it was known was torn down and rebuilt. Note the old Atlantic gas station that used to stand a few hundred yards east of the Johnston House!

that the Dutch Haven in Ronks, PA along the Lincoln Highway is back open a few days a week selling baked goods? That's right, just in time for the holidays, you can take home a famous shoofly pie to share with family or friends. The owner closed the business in early 2023 but has reopened the bakery while attempts are made to find a buyer for the business. Dutch Haven is currently open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.

We are just fascinated by this aerial view of the Johnston House (where the museum is housed) and early Lincoln Highway! As you can see, the Lincoln is to the right of the Loyalhanna while the railroad tracks occupy the left side. The Johnston House is in the lower central part of the photo, right next to the bridge. Many thanks to volunteer Ellen Piper for discovering this gem in the archive!
