We are deeply saddened by the shooting that occurred during First Friday. Our hearts are with everyone impacted by this senseless act of violence and with our entire Arts District community.
We are actively working with Metro and providing all available camera footage from our property to assist with the investigation.

Our artists, businesses, employees, residents, and visitors deserve to feel safe. We are calling on our community leaders, Metro, local businesses, and organizations throughout the Arts District to come together and take meaningful steps toward creating a safer environment for everyone.

The Arts District is built on creativity, community, and connection. Violence cannot become part of its story.

It is time for all of us to come together and protect the community we have worked so hard to build.

Yesterday, the art world lost one of its most iconic and visionary voices with the passing of Peter Max.

Today, we pause to remember an extraordinary artist whose unmistakable vision transformed color, imagination, and optimism into a visual language recognized around the world.

With his brilliant palette, cosmic imagery, and fearless creativity, Peter Max didn’t simply capture the spirit of a generation. He helped define it. His work became synonymous with an era of possibility, self-expression, peace, and hope, while remaining instantly recognizable for decades to come.

There was always something deeply optimistic about a Peter Max work. His radiant colors and bold forms seemed to ask us to imagine a brighter, freer, more joyful world.

Few artists create a visual language so distinctive that you know their work before you ever see the signature. Peter Max was one of those rare artists. His influence on Pop Art, American culture, and generations of artists is immeasurable.

His passing marks the end of an extraordinary chapter in American art, but the world Peter Max created remains brilliantly alive through the work he leaves behind.

Rest in peace, Peter Max. A true original, a visionary, and an artist who made the world a little more colorful.

Southern Nevada Art Museum is honored to currently have artwork by Peter Max on display, giving our community an opportunity to experience his remarkable legacy in person.

The art world has lost one of its most iconic and visionary voices with the passing of Peter Max.

Today, we honor an extraordinary artist whose unmistakable vision transformed color, imagination, and optimism into a visual language recognized around the world. With his brilliant palette, cosmic imagery, and fearless creativity, Peter Max captured the spirit of a generation while creating work that transcended it.

His art was more than vibrant—it was hopeful. Through radiant colors and bold forms, he invited us to see a world filled with peace, freedom, possibility, and joy.

Few artists achieve a style so distinctive that a single image can immediately reveal the hand behind it. Peter Max was one of those rare artists. His influence on Pop Art and American visual culture is undeniable, and his work will continue to inspire generations to come.

Though we mourn his passing, his extraordinary legacy lives on in every brilliant color, cosmic landscape, and joyful image he leaves behind.

Rest in peace, Peter Max—a true original, a visionary, and an absolute legend.
