📣Parking Fee Rollbacks were just announced. What does it mean for the Arts District? 🤔

The City of Las Vegas has reversed planned parking rate hikes in the 18b Arts District, keeping employee permits at $10 following pushback from local businesses.

📣 RECAP of Press Conference held today at Esther's Kitchen with Mayor Shelley Berkley, Mayor Pro Tem Olivia Diaz and local business owner and chef James Trees:

The Community came together, spoke up, and the City has responded. The City announced that the parking rate increases scheduled for October 1 are being rolled back.
Here is what that means in practice:

🚗 Employee garage permits stay at $10/month. The planned increase to $20 to $30 for employees parking in the new 500-space garage at 1421 S. Casino Center Blvd is not happening. This rate holds through completion of the Charleston Blvd storm drain project - now estimated at January 1, 2028 (previously targeted for Q3 2027, so the timeline has extended).

🚗 On-street employee permits also stay at $10/month for the 10-hour designated spaces, unchanged from today.

🚗 Free lunch parking (11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday) continues and now extends into the garage as well.

🚗 Two proposed changes were dropped entirely: free parking before 11 a.m. and paid parking between 10 p.m. and midnight are both off the table.

🚗 Private lot monthly parking rises to $50 month, due to the City's existing lease agreements with those property owners.

🚗 Employees currently on subsidized permits are being moved from private lots into the garage at the $10 rate rather than absorbing that increase.

🚗 Areas north of Charleston stay free through construction completion; the previously proposed paid street parking there is paused.

🚗 A parking validation program is now officially on the table. The City says there has been significant interest and they will work with Arts District businesses to explore it.

The 18b Las Vegas Arts District wants to thank the whole community for your advocacy during these challenging times. We are doing our best to help keep you informed of these changes above, but any questions should be directed to your representatives at the City of Las Vegas Government
