GALLERY HIGHLIGHT:

Jill Haas’s diptych “Breath Out, Breath In” captures visitors’ attention from across the gallery. The contrasting colors and bold shapes are arresting. As you get up close it is a delight to discover the painterly details.
Constructed from paper painted in a range of subtle tonal shifts, these collages are masterful. Viewers perceive a transparent overlay and are shocked to learn that each color shift is its own small piece of opaque paper arranged to give the illusion of light through delicate petals and shadows cast by complex shapes.
