Local (Lancaster, PA and surrounding areas) artists are invited to participate in this open theme, open media art call in which all the work is presented on square 10x10 inch panels.

How to participate:

- purchase a panel from Third Story
- make art on the panel
- return the panel by October 31
- you are in the show!

Panels can be purchased at Third Story during regular gallery hours or online via our website.

We are delighted to be hosting an artist talk and book signing with Sarah Bourne Rafferty of Sarah Bourne Rafferty this Saturday at 10:30 am.

Sarah is a leader in the world of contemporary cyanotype and a generous creative mentor.

She is one of our favorite people to chat with about art and creativity. This is going to be good!

Sarah has work in our flat files, on the walls for the “Tapestry” exhibit, and of course we will have copies of her book for sale that she can personalize for you!

If you are interested in her book, we suggest pre-ordering on our website so you have a copy reserved in your name on Saturday.

These two cold wax studies on paper make a lovely pair. Framed in crisp white frames with double mats to set them off beautifully.

You can see them in person at the Lititz Art Association’s new gallery in Lititz at 51 N Broad Street. The gallery opens for visitors on Friday at 10 am.

On Saturday, August 15, at 10:30am, Sarah Bourne Rafferty will be joining Third Story for a free Artist’s Talk, followed by a book-signing of her beautiful new book, “Botanical Cyanotype: A Guide to the Art of Sun Printing”

Sarah is the cyanotype artist behind Sarah Bourne Rafferty . She has an MFA in Printmaking and Book Arts from The University of the Arts. In addition to creating the original cyanotypes that drive Atwater Designs, she is an educator and creative mentor. She has work in our current gallery exhibit, Tapestry, as well as unframed, original cyanotypes in our flat file.

Sarah is one of our favorite artists to talk with about creativity, studio practices, motivation and mind set. We know this talk is going to be great! And of course, we will also be talking about Sarah’s new book: “Botanical Cyanotype: a Guide to the Art of Sun Printing”

Sarah will be signing books following our discussion. If you are interested in her book, we encourage you to pre-order. We will hold it for you until the day of the signing so that Sarah can personalize it for you.
