LAST CHANCE This is the final weekend to experience Standing Still in a Constant State of Departure, on view at Wynter Gallery through August 15.

A posthumous collaboration between Portland photographer Landry Major and her late son, Cash Kasper.

Their images blend into one another through double and triple exposures, collodion wet plates, Polachrome film, and Polaroids, often burnished with gold and silver leaf.

Ethereal, layered, and quietly luminous, these photographs remind us that connection can remain whole and vibrant beyond the visible.

Come sit with the work before it closes. We’d love to see you this weekend.

This Saturday, we gather for something tender.

Join us for an Artist Talk with Portland-based fine art photographer Landry Major on Saturday, June 20th, 12–2pm, in the gallery. 🤍

Standing Still in a Constant State of Departure is a spiritually moving body of work made in posthumous collaboration with, and in deep honor of, Landry's son, the late Cash Kasper. Together, though separated by time and space, the two explore the enduring, poetic, and transcendent nature of love through this visual conversation.

The exhibition's title is a phrase of Cash's own writing, discovered in a notebook after his passing. It carries the tension at the heart of this work: to be standing bodily present for the sake of a loved one, even while feeling more on the verge of leaving. The title anchors the exhibition in Cash's own language, and in doing so, draws him into authorship alongside his mother.

Landry's deeply moving photography combines a unique use of gold and silver burnishing with layered landscapes, figures, and gesture, all while keeping Cash's divine touch at the center. The result is a body of work that moves with a quiet kind of ceremony, seemingly created to remind us of love's defiance toward space, time, and even death. Landry's art tells of how a bond strong enough can reach between the realms and connect us past the physical body's limits, staying vibrant and whole.

Come hear Landry speak about the work, the process, and the love woven through it all.

Seating is limited. DM us to RSVP or email to reserve your spot.
