French River Wood Art The Artist, Curt Brubakken Wood turned bowls,vases,and platters.i also do hand carved pieces if I think it will enhance the piece.

I like to work with birch and ash mostly but also do pine,maple,box elder and more. Each wood has its own good and bad. I love working with burl wood which can be truly incredible.This also makes it much harder to find and also makes it more expensive. I also use colored dyes, airbrushing ,wood burning and several other techniques depending what I feel the piece is calling for.All of my wood is gathered from northern Minnesota.I have lived here all my life and like finding the wood as much as turning it.
