An independent evaluation is being conducted of the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC). This evaluation is required in statute to look at progress made by the CDEC to ensure a robust, supported, efficient, and effective early childhood system that supports children, families, and the early childhood workforce since the Department launched in 2022, and to make recommendations regarding potential changes going forward. Public Consulting Group (PCG), a national early childhood consulting firm, was selected as the vendor to conduct this evaluation.
The CDEC has created a webpage for the independent evaluation, which includes links to the surveys and focus group registration (in English and Spanish) and is looking to collect input from the following groups:
