The Lakeport Plantation Museum researches and interprets the people and cultures that shaped plantation life in the Mississippi River Delta, focusing on the Antebellum, Civil War, and Reconstruction periods. Self-guided tours are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. http://lakeport.astate.edu/planyourvisit/

Lakeport Plantation was built in 1859 for Lydia and Lycurgus Johnson. It is Arkansas's only

On this Juneteenth, we honor the lives of the 155 enslaved individuals who involuntarily labored at Lakeport Plantation in 1860 with a yellow flag and the 529 individuals who were enslaved at the Sunnyside Plantation with a red flag.
While a single flag cannot fully represent each person’s life, we honor their memory and acknowledge their stolen labor built the plantation economy and contributed to the United States’ economy.
