Movie Mondays with the Lake Geneva Public Library are back starting on November 2, 2026 from 2-4PM
In this winter film series we will enjoy critically acclaimed films from the 1900s through the 2020s. Each film session will include an introduction by Dave Desimone of the Wisconsin Historical Societyy. Desimone will lead a group discussion following each film.
Up first is Night of The Living Dead (1968, 1hr 35min, English, Kanopy)
A disparate group of individuals takes refuge in an abandoned house when corpses begin to leave the graveyard in search of fresh human bodies to devour. The pragmatic Ben (Duane Jones) does his best to control the situation, but when the reanimated bodies surround the house, the other survivors begin to panic.
As any semblance of order within the group begins to dissipate, the zombies start to find ways inside -- and one by one, the living humans become the prey of the deceased ones in horror legend George A. Romeros' first film.
The series will contiue on the frist Monday of each month through April. As awlays, these programs are free and open to all.
