It is with a heavy heart that I share this very difficult decision with you as The Little Paintbrush Art Studio family. I will be closing our bricks and mortar location on Rena Drive when this year ends. This is a business move I have considered for several years. But, when your children walk thru the doors with their giant smiles and excitement for art, my heart explodes, and my mind is again changed, and I keep the doors open for another year. This is not going to be an easy transition for me as this business has been near and dear to my heart for over 16 years. As the economy in Lafayette grew and fell, we grew and fell with it. Thru good times and bad times, we continued our artistic journey, providing art classes to people of all ages. As the end grows closer, it gets harder to keep my focus on the inevitable, I need time off to regroup.
Your children have brought me so much joy. They have inspired me to be a better person, to practice tons of patience, and to explore creative possibilities far beyond my comfort zone. I hope they can say the same about their experiences at TLP.
Every class has its own personality and every week we are faced with creative challenges and endless clever questions. “Why can’t we stay longer?”, “Why can’t we sleep here?”, Why can’t we have art everyday?’
Your children have turned my frown upside down countless times in my life! Some come to us with all the confidence in the world and some come to us needing a confidence boost. Others just need to be surrounded by kids with the same passion for art. Whatever the case, I needed them ALL in my life, and I am so grateful to YOU for entrusting them to me.
Thank you for supporting your children’s desire to be artful and at the same time allowing them to be themselves. I am forever grateful! This isn’t the end of The Little Paintbrush as a productive and creative business. I will continue to work in the Lafayette Parish school system in the PACE program, and some other school and daycare programs as my idea for a new direction for TLP evolves. You will have first hand knowledge of the new growth as I will keep in touch through Facebook and TLP Website.
Thank you for your continued support, participation and well wishes, Sasha Nick
