Go beyond the locked gates and into a world of war machinery that served in two World Wars. Learn about the process used to load and fire the main guns by viewing the shell and powder handling rooms and then the turret itself. There are many other sites to be seen that are only available through a Hard Hat Tour, give us a call and book your spot today.

First of all, I would like to thank all of you who follow this page. Your interest and support of the TEXAS has helped keep her afloat (literally). In the coming month we will be taking this page down. There are several reasons for this. With the ship hopefully departing for a shipyard in the second half of the year, it will likely be at least the fall of 2022 before we can resume Hard Hat Tours aboard ship (don't worry, there is full intention to resume the tours when she's back and ready). Another reason is a desire to streamline our social media presence. As many of you already know, there is a parent page to this one, the FIRST TEXAS VOLUNTEERS page. Many of you already follow this page, and if you don't, please give it a like. It makes more sense to handle all of our posts through that one page. As the transition of the ship from Texas Parks and Wildlife to the Battleship Texas Foundation nears completion, the Battleship Texas Foundation page will become the primary page for the TEXAS. The FTV page will be the primary source for the activities of the volunteers aboard ship. The content that you've seen here will be on the FTV page, plus more. We appreciate you continuing to follow us as we get TEXAS ready for the next phase of her storied life.
