Texas Heroes Museum The Texas Heroes Museum is located at the Old Jail. There is no admission charge to tour the jail and the museum.

Our mission is to honor Texans who have served to secure and defend freedom and liberty from the time of the Texas Revolution to present day conflicts. Texas Heroes Museum is located inside the Fayette County Old Jail, opened in 1883 and in operation until 1985. The museum honors Texans who sacrificed to secure and defend freedom and liberty from the time of the Texas Revolution to present day.

New York was one of the few cities in the US to celebrate VE Day. President Truman issued an urgent appeal not to slacken efforts until “the battle is won.” In the US, celebrations were subdued.
