Join us at Sternberg Museum of Natural History in Hays, Kansas on October 1, 2026 at 6:30 pm for a special presentation by Melanie Bonner Thomas, daughter of renowned paleontologist, Marion Bonner. Bonner's discoveries are known world-wide. In addition to Sternberg Museum, Bonner's finds are on display at Royal Tyrell Museum in Canada, Los Angeles County Museum, Field Museum in Chicago, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, American Museum of Natural History in New York, University of Kansas Natural History Museum, and Keystone Gallery in Scott City, Kansas.

This event is hosted by Sternberg Museum of Natural History and the Kansas Post Rock Limestone Coalition. The event is free and open to the public.

The Liebenthal Fall Festival is complete. We wish to congratulate and say thank you to all of the people who spent countless hours putting this event together. If those first settlers were here this weekend, they would say, "Gute Arbeit. Wir sind stolz Unsere Leute, unser Erbe!"

The winners of the original descendants competition. The John Lechleiter (Legleiter) family was represented by over 60 descendants. The Jacob Herrman, Sr. family was second and Peter Depperschmidt, third place. What an awesome representation of family history.
