Who’s there in the dark corner??? 🫪

Get into spooky season with Movie Night at the Museum on Thursday, Oct. 29. Experience the museum after dark and take a close look at a real Victorian mourning gown on display before you see one on the big screen in The Woman in Black.

Explore the museum, stop by the photo booth, grab some popcorn, candy, and drinks, then settle in for the movie. All-black attire is encouraged but not required.

Registration = Four Tickets! Movies at the Museum are
FREE for Museum Members. When you register for this event, you’re activating an individual museum membership for the following year. That means access to special programs and events and a TON of other benefits. Get tickets and learn more by visiting the link in the comments & our bio.

We're excited to welcome families with children of all ages to one of our favorite annual events on Sunday, October 18. Join us for Can you Dig it? 2026 from noon-4 pm and explore archaeology with hands-on activities at the museum.

This Saturday, learn from an expert at our Hat-Making Workshop 🎩

Join us at the museum for a hands-on class with Melissa Caldwell-Weddig, Costume Shop Supervisor at Clarence Brown Theatre and millinery instructor at University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Melissa has created hats for Broadway productions including Wicked, Mamma Mia! and Spamalot.

Try your hand at millinery and make your own fascinator, just in time to add a little extra flair to your Halloween look.

What we wear can say a lot about who we are. 👗🧵

At Community Day on September 12, museum visitors and presenters came dressed to impress and showed us some of the ways clothing can connect us to our communities, cultures, and traditions.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun and memorable day celebrating our temporary exhibition Fashioning Ourselves: The Power of Clothing and Adornment!

The exhibition will be on view through early December! Come see it for yourself!
