Our mission is to educate the public about the history of Marion County and to enable members and visitors to appreciate our past. The Marion County Historical Society was first organized on May 21, 1955. The Society has an extensive collection of information about the early history of Marion County, the schools and towns, as well as individual family histories and stories of those who served in v

arious wars. The museum & other buildings house many items that date to earlier times.
