Our mission is to educate the public about the history of Marion County and to enable members and visitors to appreciate our past. The Marion County Historical Society was first organized on May 21, 1955. The Society has an extensive collection of information about the early history of Marion County, the schools and towns, as well as individual family histories and stories of those who served in v

arious wars. The museum & other buildings house many items that date to earlier times. We received this rock from the Dixie Cornell Gephardt house location today. Thank you to Rosalin Thompson, Knoxville Librarian for thinking about the Historical Society and preserving a little more history. Also making arrangements to have it moved to the Historical Village.

Some of our Historical Society members prepping for the Nationals Pancake event today. Hope to see everyone tomorrow (Wednesday) through Saturday for pancakes, sausage, biscuits, gravy. All you can eat for $9.00 for adults/students and kids 10 & under $5.00. We will be open from 7:30am to 11:30am. Come out and ENJOY!

Movies, music and food at the Marion County Historical Village
TONIGHT, Friday night July 29, 2022

16mm sound films on vintage projectors. Shown on big screen on the back of the Wabash Bussey Train depot.

7pm .. Music (vinyl records 50s thru 70s pop, rock n roll and country) I have good audio equipment and turntable for vinyl records. If you have a favorite old record, please bring it. I will play it for you.
7pm .. hotdogs & popcorn, free will donation for food
Beverages for sale.
Movies will start about 9pm or a little earlier, when its dark enough for films
Last movie will end about 10:15-10:30pm
Come and go as you wish. Bring lawn chair, blanket, insect repellant, and maybe a flashlight.

Will be showing a variety of shorter movies.
Several Cartoons, from the 1940s through 1960s
Short comedies: such as Laurel and Hardy, Three Stooges, Charlie Chaplin
Short Disney shows, old TV shows
