G.I. Joe’s is sad to announce that Kinston native and hometown hero Eugene “ Red” McDaniel, 94, has died of congestive heart failure on August 7, 2026. Joe’s has placed a register book at the museums display of Red’s military career. We welcome anyone to come into Joe’s to sign the book as a measure of gratitude for the services Captain McDaniel performed for our Country.

Joe’s is open Tuesday through Saturday. 9 AM to 2 PM
