Hello. My name is Halligan. Today is the first of many days at the Caswell No 1 Fire Station Museum. Dad say he was giving Truckie, my big brother, a day off after a very busy Fire Prevention Week.
Well Truckie and I opened the museum until 1pm today. We closed early because the street was still closed and we had no visitors.
Well Queen Street is still closed which means the museum will be closed. As soon as we can gain access to the museum, we will begin opening again. Please like and follow this page to get the most up-to-date information.

We are open today at Caswell No 1 until 4pm. We will close temporarily between 11:20 and 12:20 for the send off of the St. Baldrick's Foundation Mortorcycle run.

The Kinston Firefighters Alumni Picnic at Kinston Fire Station 1 scheduled for noon on Thursday, October 4th has been postponed until next year. This is due to the preparation, response, and recovery efforts of the Department to Hurricane Florence.

It is with great sadness that we have to report the former curator of the museum, Guy Basden, has passed away at age of 83.
Guy was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired Fire Captain and Fire Marshal with the Kinston Fire Department. He was a huge supporter of the local baseball teams and the Freedom Classic.
Rest in Peace, Guy. We will endeavor to carry on where you have left off.
Caswell No. 1 Fire Station Museum will be open until 4pm today. Stop on by if you are in Kinston. Truckie says he is waiting to greet you.
Construction is still ongoing on Queen Street in front of the museum today. We are open though and there is parking across the street and behind the museum in the courthouse parking lot. Truckie and I will be here till 4pm today.

Due to commitments at the Freedom Classic, Caswell No. 1 Fire Museum will be closing at 12 pm today. We will be open regular hours next Saturday.

Due to a limited number of volunteers, our hours of operation on Saturdays may very with the availability of people to open the museum. Normal hours are between 10 am and 4pm on Saturdays.
