My Green Museum is popping up at the O+ FESTIVAL!

Join us in Kingston for a weekend celebrating art, music, wellness, and the power of community. O+ brings artists, healthcare providers, and neighbors together around the belief that healthcare is a community responsibility—and that creativity is essential to our collective health.

You can find My Green Museum at:

🎨 The opening parade
Friday, October 9 at 6 PM
Beginning at People’s Place and ending at the O+ outdoor stage on Wall Street

🌱 The O+ Block Party
Saturday, October 10 from 1–6 PM

Wall Street between Main Street and North Front Street
Stop by our table for playful My Green Museum activities and to learn more about our vision for a permanent children’s museum rooted in nature, sustainability, and hands-on discovery.

We’ll also close out the weekend with a community clean-up on Monday, October 12. More details are on our website.

What can a cardboard scrap become? 📦

At the Trash Lab, the answer was entirely up to our young visitors. Visitors to our August Pop-Up Museum could follow prompts to make fish for our immersive forest, turn pre-cut cardboard into unexpected creatures… or simply create whatever they imagined! 💭 🐟

Volunteer Christopher Daly constructed the exhibit table from thrifted materials and old milk crates. We filled it with cardboard scraps, beads, yarn, googly eyes, crayons, glue, and other creative supplies.

During a special field trip from Cornell Cooperative Extension, Zebi led cardboard crafts for children looking for a quieter, hands-on experience. One young visitor walked through the door and exclaimed, “I’VE ALWAYS DREAMED OF COMING HERE!”

That’s exactly the kind of wonder we hope to make possible: playful, open-ended learning that helps children see new value in the materials around them.

¿En qué se puede convertir un trozo de cartón? 📦

En el Trash Lab, la respuesta dependía totalmente de nuestros jóvenes visitantes. Quienes acudieron a nuestro museo efímero de agosto pudieron seguir diversas propuestas para crear peces para nuestro bosque inmersivo, transformar piezas de cartón precortadas en criaturas inesperadas... ¡o simplemente crear cualquier cosa que imaginaran! 💭 🐟

El voluntario Christopher Daly construyó la mesa de exhibición utilizando materiales de segunda mano y viejas cajas de leche. La llenamos con recortes de cartón, cuentas, lana, ojos móviles, crayones, pegamento y otros materiales creativos.
Durante una visita especial organizada por Cornell Cooperative Extension, Zebi dirigió una actividad de manualidades con cartón para los niños que buscaban una experiencia más tranquila y práctica. Un joven visitante entró y exclamó: «¡SIEMPRE HE SOÑADO CON VENIR AQUÍ!».
Ese es exactamente el tipo de asombro que esperamos hacer posible: un aprendizaje lúdico y abierto que ayude a los niños a descubrir un nuevo valor en los materiales que los rodean.

We’re still smiling about our August Pop-Up Children’s Museum! 🎈
It was wonderful to watch children explore, play, and discover, especially hearing that some didn’t want to leave. We loved seeing which exhibits captured their attention and hearing feedback from parents, caregivers, and educators on what our community needs from a permanent space.

One parent told us, "This is the most fun he’s had—ever." A field trip attendee even called it their "most favorite place in the world."

¡Aún seguimos sonriendo por nuestro Museo Infantil Pop-Up! 🎈

Fue maravilloso ver a los niños explorar, jugar y descubrir, y especialmente escuchar que algunos no querían irse. Nos encantó ver qué exhibiciones captaron su atención y recibir comentarios de padres, cuidadores y educadores sobre lo que nuestra comunidad necesita para un espacio permanente.

Un padre nos dijo: "Es lo más divertido que ha hecho jamás". Un visitante de una excursión escolar incluso lo llamó su "lugar favorito en todo el mundo".

Come see us at Forsyth Family Fun Day in Kingston this Saturday from noon to 4pm.

We'll have cyanotype printing and flash embroidery! What is flash embroidery? If you bring a piece of clothing, bag or textile, we'll have a volunteer embroider a quick design - kind of like face paint for your clothes.

It’s the last day of our pop-up at the O+ Exchange Clinic and it just so happens that Sunday is a perfect day for our reading corner.

Our book collection includes books by local authors Chris Baker of (On a Mushroom Day, Weaver and the Web) and Alex Testere (, Please Grow) as well as a hand-picked selection by Awa-Moon of 👋👋
