OPEN THIS SATURDAY!
The Leo P. Ostebo Kings Park Heritage Museum invites the public to explore Long Island’s Revolutionary War history through a special exhibit, “Patriots, an Important Battle, and the First Purple Heart,” on view Saturdays only through June 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Visitors will discover the important role that Kings Park and Fort Salonga played during the Revolutionary era, including stories of local residents who risked their lives in support of American independence. Learn about Elijah Churchill, the Battle of Fort Slongo, and Zephania Platt.

The exhibit is presented as part of Suffolk County’s 250th commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a countywide initiative recognizing the region’s role in America’s founding. You can get your commemorative stamp.

The Leo P. Ostebo Kings Park Heritage Museum is located at 101 Church St., Kings Park. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. For more information, call 631-269-3305 or visit kpheritagemuseum.net/Suffolk250.html.
