Check out this mornings video where we share our latest donation, a WWII purple heart. This medal was donated to us from a distant relative who wanted to make sure it went to a gome where it would be safe and the story told.

It's going to be a great day at the Kingman Airport! Get out there this afternoon as CAF Airbase Arizona brings Sentimental Journey, one of only three currently airworthy B-17's into town. This was made possible by the Aviation Heritage Center of Kingman who have put this event together. While you are there stop in at the Kingman Airport Cafe and enjoy a meatloaf or chicken parm sandwich, both of which support the Great Wars Museum Lockheed PV2 project. I just got back from positioning our Beech UC-45J project which is looking really good with some new markings thanks to Dylan Lawler and Jay!

Yesterday months and months of preparations and planning came together for the Great wars museum 1st annual Family Fall Festival and Car show. It was successful beyond our wildest dreams and we can't wait to do it again next year!

A hugh thank you to Kingman Nazarene for their generosity in using their facilities. Of course the Mother Road Media crew did us well as did Annie's Art Attic and the fabulous crew from National Bank of Arizona! The air duct dynasty crew and our other volunteers did great with the kids and the tank town RC guys made sure everyone got to try out the track.

Something we decided last minute and something we will continue is that kids can come to our fair, play games and win prizes regardless of their families ability to pay. So for next year all we ask for is a donation. We are a community grass roots effort and seeing kids leaving with an arm load of prizes was something that warms the heart.

To all the car show folks, the vendors, the patrons and the volunteers, thank you!

Tomorrow is the big day! We have been working on this for months and from 12-4 on Saturday the Great Wars Museum Inaugural Family Festival and Car show gets rolling. Mother Road Media had done so much for this event as well as so many people! Come out and have a great time with all sorts of family fun including.

National Bank of Arizona kids activities
MrFast Phil RC tank obstacle course
Air Duct Dynasty toy duck pond
Small petting zoo!
Military vehicle displays
Classic car show

Food vendors will be
Cornman Rick and hillbilly tea

Other vendors will be present as well!

There will be a 50/50 raffle and remember 100% of everything will go to support the museum!

It has been another great week for donations and progress with the Great Wars Museum.

1st off last week some awesome folks donated 2 of the coolest books I have ever seen! Each bound book contains 2 weeks worth on New York Times from the war years, and they are packed with great information. These will find a forever home in our library.

Today I had a gentleman drop off a box of mostly his items from the Air Force. All sorts of cool stuff from a helmet, to uniforms, holsters and more. Thank you as well

WE just got last month's check from the Kingman Airport Cafe for the help with the PV-2 Harpoon! We did better than expected and now we have new flavors that are helping. For the next 3 months their chicken parm and meatloaf sandwiches will be supporting the harpoon. So stop by and check them out.

This coming Saturday is the Fall Festival and car show with Mother Road Media! So check it out noon to 4 on Saturday at the Church of the Nazarine on North Stockton Hill Road!

I wanted to get everyone local to put September 26th from 12-4 on your calendars! We are hosting our fist event fall festival and car show amd it is going to be great! The amazing folks at Mother Road Media have headed up this project and we have support from places like Annie's Art Attic - Kingman, duct dynasty and the amazing gals at National Bank of AZ! We will have fair games, a small petting zoo, a cake walk, RC Tanks, and so much more. This will be at the Kingman Church of the Nazarine on North Stockton Hill road and 100% of everything raised goes into the museum building! So please come out and support us, bring the kids and have a great time and please please please, share this!

I would like to share out latest video from Mother Road Media! These guys are really mastering the art of making a good video, complete with "B" roll footage and background music! In this video we talk a little about the harpoon as well as our beech.

The beech will be on display Oct 5th when the Aviation Heritage Foundation of Kingman hosts the B-17 Sentimental Journey! I hope everyone appreciates the effort both time wise and capital wise that Paul Arnold Gaines and Charles Tim Gerlach have invested in Oct 5th. We look forward to working together with them to make this, as well as other future events, great for the people of Kingman!

Labor day weekend the "city of Kingman" will get her wings attached and start looking like a real plane.

Ladies and gentlemen the PV-2 is officially wheels down in Kingman!

Today our amazing team of volunteers got together and off loaded the harpoon and got her tires back on and got her secured. All of the usual suspects were there to help with Angelo Valla Jr., Dylan Lawler, Brian Ramirez , Ronald Doty and Jay showing up. Dave De Waard from Mother Road Media was on hand to document the process which went so smoothly thanks to the ongoing support of Jet Yard Solutions, LLC who always comes through for us. Of course we had to go eat lunch at the Kingman Airport Cafe to celebrate and I am happy to say 3 guys ordered the harpoon wraps!

Again a special thanks to J Momjian Trucking for getting her here and letting us keep their trailer for an extra week so we could unload on our schedule.

Now let the fun begin

The great wars museum would like to thank the newest sponsor of our PV-2 harpoon project, Nucor Steel Kingman AZ. We are especially grateful for Max Kittle who works for them who brought our project to their attention. It is grass roots support like this that makes these undertakings possible.

Another huge thank you to Anna Thompson and her husband Dean for their purchase of a $250 war bond! Years ago we sat in a garage and talked about the dream I had of eventually building a museum and their support both financially and as friends has been appreciated so much beyond words.

Lastly we just got last month's donation from the Kingman Airport Cafe, keep supporting them and eating those summer wraps! If all goes well we should have a harpoon on the field next week!
