Two men, a quiet corner, and a slice of Old Key West life. Stan Sharp’s watercolor captures the spirit of the original Fisherman’s Café, once a go-to gathering place where locals swapped fishing stories 🐟, shared news 📰, and felt right at home🏠.

Housed near the old Oversea Railway station 🚂, the café was known for its familiar faces and warm welcomes, where your café con leche ☕️ might be waiting before you even sat down.

in 1973, the Joseph Yates Porter Mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places, recognizing one of Key West’s most notable historic homes.

Dr. Joseph Yates Porter, Florida’s first public health officer, made lasting contributions during a time when the state faced serious threats from infectious diseases such as yellow fever. His legacy remains closely tied to this historic residence at the corner of Caroline and Duval streets.

This beautiful watercolor by Martha Watson Sauer captures the elegance and grandeur of the mansion. The artwork is part of the Key West Art & Historical Society’s permanent collection (2008.18.0005).

🌈 Celebrate Pride Month with us all June long! 🎭

The Key West Art & Historical Society is proud to honor Pride Month by celebrating the many contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to Key West’s history, culture, and creative spirit. From artists and writers to business owners, activists, and community leaders, LGBTQ+ individuals have helped shape the island into the vibrant, welcoming destination it is today.

As part of our Pride Month celebration, we're highlighting the life and legacy of Tennessee Williams, one of America's most influential playwrights and an important LGBTQ+ voice whose years in Key West inspired some of his most enduring work.

✨ June Pride Special
Enjoy BOGO admission throughout June 2026 at the Tennessee Williams Museum! Bring a friend and discover the stories, creativity, and personal journey of the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright who called Key West home.

🎪 See You at Pride!
You'll also find us at the Key West Pride Street Fair next weekend. Stop by our booth to learn more about Tennessee Williams, Key West history, and the diverse stories that continue to shape our island community.

🏳️‍🌈 We look forward to celebrating Pride with residents and visitors alike throughout the month of June.
