Kewaunee County Jail Museum The Kewaunee County Jail Museum is a part of the Kewaunee County Historical Society. It opened its doors in May of 1970 The old jail building was built in 1876.

It housed the jail and sheriff's quarters until 1969, when the new jail opened. The Kewaunee County Historical Society took over the building following a county referendum in 1970, which saved the building for museum purposes. The museum contains 9 rooms of displays, including the old dungeon-like cell block. The museum has displays including, law enforcement memorabilia, antique farm equipment, f

urniture, medical equipment, cameras, religious artifacts, Native American History, and even includes musical history of Kewaunee County. It truly has something for everyone. It's also rumored to have some friendly spirits that hang around.
