Maison Dieu in Faversham, Kent, is all that remains of a monastery established by Henry III in 1234.

Made from brick, wattle and daub, it later cared for the sick and elderly until its closure in 1519, and today serves as a museum displaying local Roman artefacts.

Canterbury’s Westgate, built around 1379, is England’s largest surviving medieval city gate.

Once the principal entrance to the city, it later became a prison before reopening as a museum in 1906, and today houses the Westgate Towers Museum and modern escape rooms.

Baddesley Clinton is a quintessential medieval moated manor house in Warwickshire.

The 13th century manor is known famous for its intricate priest holes, cleverly engineered by Saint Nicholas Owen; during a 1591 raid, nine Jesuit priests successfully evaded capture by hiding in a cramped, water-filled secret chamber built into the medieval sewers. 📸 National Trust

It's been a long time since I shared what's going on. Please enjoy these progress pictures of paper mache pieces on my middle of the living room work table. I swore to myself I'd keep my things in the studio area... But it's still too crowded there to work. Oops. I did a floating technique when making the skull with jaw bone, so it's completely hollow. The tabletop shelf is cardboard construction covered in paper mache. And the trophy heads are paper-mache over armatures and some paper clay on the rabbit.

I've been sitting on some design concepts that've been percolating in the back of my brain for years now. Before moving I began exploring them but I ended up trashing the first one I created. Well, the ideas aren't gone... Just more developed. So, this time I'm approaching using a combination of different techniques. This is the 3rd relief mold I've done for these ideas. I just spent the last 4 days repairing this mold because, I made mistakes, and this time it left me with a mold with lots of cracks that looked like it had been dropped from the sky. So, it's fixed now. Time to fully dry/cure.
