🌿 Discover the fascinating medical history of Greeley at Centennial Village Museum! Join us July 19-20 to explore how illnesses and medicines have shaped our community.

Built by Lon White of Lamar, Nebraska in 1917, this 9ft. x 14ft. wagon house played a crucial role in the White family's journey to Kersey, Colorado. Seeking a drier climate for Stella White's recovery from tuberculosis, they traveled slowly over a month, camping nightly in a tent while Stella rested in the wagon’s bed. Their journey included six hens, a protective dog, two horses, and a canary for Stella’s company.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to visit White's wagon house and learn about our local medical history!

Here''s a link to a 4-minute talk on CPR and an article with photos showing interest in the state for preserving what remains of the abandoned town of Dearfield, east of Kersey on hwy. 34.

The Black community was founded in Weld County in 1910 by businessman Oliver Toussaint Jackson and was a thriving farming community until the Dust Bowl.

Platte Valley Elementary School second grade team took some great pictures during their visit to the museum! Second graders got a short experience on how things used to be done in less technological times. Lots of manual labor!

Paul and Susan Boucher brought their antique hand-crank phonograph player from Aurora, Colorado to donate to the museum. Susan said that her parents had it when she was growing up and that its been in her house for many years! We were delighted to meet this terrific couple and will be happy to display this donation for years to come! Thank you Susan and Paul!

One of the great things about being a volunteer on the museum staff is that we sometimes attend meetings, classes, or training sessions. Recently some of us attended a meeting of ANFRM (Association of Northern Front Range Museums). After the business meeting, we got a guided tour of the Forney Museum of Transportation from the director of the museum. I would definitely recommend visiting there if you're interested in trains, cars, etc.

This is old news, but I wanted to post these photos of a recent event. On December 6, 2016, The Kersey museum hosted a book signing by Dana Echohawk the author of "The 70 Ranch: Colorado and the West." It was a great night and we are hoping to host other events in the future! Let us know if you have any ideas for events that we could bring to Kersey! We'll try to post them here to let you know when the next event is happening.
