Susan Bagrationoff is a professional surrealist whose body of work focuses on mythology and mysterious creatures. Susan M. Susan is a native Floridian.

Faeries and folklore are the subjects of her creations using the beauty of nature within the Pacific Northwest for realistic reference. Bagrationoff (Lady Z) is an ethereal artist living in Fort Myers, Florida. Her subject matter of choice for her paintings are ethereal creatures such as angels and other ghost-like figures. Much of Susan's recent works have incorporated the concepts of the energy of the soul within plants, animals and human beings. Her latest bodies of work include The Runes Stones (her latest), Tarot Cards, and the Chakras . Born and raised in Miami, she is still one of the palest people in town! Susan's favorite music type is gothic/industrial and she often attends clubs that spin such music on Wednesday nights. This type of music inspires her since the themes of many of the songs relate to mysterious and often magickal subjects. Susan also adore New Age music for the same reason.

Today six of my mixed media creations were placed on display in the Covington Library, part of the King County Library System! What an honor to have my works in such a serene public place for local library patrons to enjoy while they read and check out books. Thank you, Arts Alliance Northwest and Covington Library for this unique opportunity to show my work within our community.

JUST COMPLETED: "Rain Gatherers" 2026. This 9" x 9" original acrylic mixed media painting conjures the scene of hamadryads gazing at the raindrops gathering on a forest fungus. The fae within the trees surround the golden mushroom, admiring the water as it collects on the fungi's surface.

This piece was conjured using copious amounts of modeling paste, giving deep textures to the piece and extending certain elements off the canvas by nearly an inch. Impressionistic brush stroke techniques and palette knife work bring life to the subject. Metallic mediums were used to add a sense of magick to the water droplets on the mushroom.

VIDEO PROGRESS POST: Here's a short video of the progress that has been made on my latest creation! Watch closely and you can see the intense textures that are conjuring the faces of the hamadryads. The fungus is my next challenge as there will be water droplets holding onto the edges of the mushroom. Stay tuned!!

PROGRESS POST: The magick begins! I am loving the blueish tones incorporated into the Impressionistic soil background. An angular palette knife is assisting me to conjure the hamadryads of the tree into existence. Zoom in and you can make out the subtle faces peering at you. After a few touch ups on the wood, the fungus will get colorful. Stay tuned for another progress post soonish!

PROGRESS POST: I am SO ready to dive into this magickal mushroom inspired project! Now that the under painting has been applied, the intense initial textures can be seen. The background sections will be next followed swiftly by the hamadrayads residing within the tree. So excited to bring these mysterious souls out of hiding. NEW UPON THE EASEL: When I was on a recent hike, I came across this unique fungus growing from an old tree. I discovered the fungus was adorned in tiny water droplets. The hamadryads within this ancient wood seemed to be protecting this fungus, hence I felt inspired to create this piece!

Modeling paste was recently applied to begin conjuring the textured foundation on this small 8" x 8" canvas. Stay tuned for a progress post soonish as this new work is about to get colorful!

JUST COMPLETED: "Seven Seers" 2026. This 22" x 22" original acrylic mixed media painting discovers the gaze of seven ancient dryads embodied within a piece of driftwood that washed ashore. Their glimmering eyes are hidden within the deep crevices of the slowly decaying wood, watching the ongoings of society.

This piece was conjured using copious amounts of modeling paste, giving deep textures to the piece and extending certain elements off the canvas by nearly two inches. Impressionistic brush stroke techniques and palette knife work bring life to the subject. Metallic mediums were used to accent the eyes of the dryads as well as to highlight strands of the grassy shoreline.

SOLD! I recently heard the news that my mixed media piece, "Surreal Discovery", which was on display at The California Nature Art Museum in Solvang California, SOLD! This was my first time my artwork was a part of an exhibition in a museum and it was one of the works that was purchased during the show. It's been a surreal experience to learn that my Sonoma Sunshine flower inspired piece found a forever home. Thank you to the art collector who purchased my creation!

PROGRESS POST: I am LOVING how the colors are forming unexpected hues within the driftwood inspired dryads! The faces of these secretive beings are starting to emerge as they peer at the world from the cracks of the withering wood. Getting close to completing this mysterious composition of souls. VIDEO PROGRESS POST: Here's a short video highlighting the progress on my driftwood inspired dryad! The petrified wooden skin of this old soul is being conjured rather quickly. And I have to say that I am LOVING how the colors of the driftwood are developing!
