We are excited to announce our newest artist to the Pollard Gallery.

Meet Anna Baxter

Anna is an artist living in small town Wisconsin. She enjoys a variety of art styles, including ceramics and sculpture, painting, digital design, and even crochet when the weather gets chilly. Creating things with her own two hands has always been important.

Anna learned early that she could use art to express herself and process big feelings. Even if the process was an emotional mess, she could come out of a haze of furious sketching feeling happy and at peace with stresses and anxieties. Eventually, she reached an age where she could start taking real art classes, and never stopped.

Her first ceramic piece was in Art 101, and she was hooked immediately. She signed up for every pottery class she could throughout high school and college. The three-dimensional aspect of building out of clay made shapes and perspective finally click. It was easier to sculpt a face than sketch one.

After college, she was sucked into corporate work and used any extra funds she made to begin building her own shop. A wheel, a kiln, and a variety of tools. Even though she had hardly any time to create, Anna felt strongly and knew she had to make art a part of her future.

Rediscovering my passion for art after so many years allowed her to imagine a life doing something she loved all day. She found that practice was conducive to the exercises and strict medication routine she had to accomplish each day. Creating art healed her in the way that it always has.

Anna is back to square one in her career and is happier and more fulfilled than ever before. Anna is excited to be part of the Pollard Artists.

Kathy Tabbert

I joined The Pollard Gallery in 2022 after retiring from the Kenosha School District, where I spent 21 years working as an Administrative Assistant in school leadership.

I have been painting with watercolor for about 12 years. After taking my first watercolor class, I immediately fell in love with the medium and have enjoyed continuing to learn and grow as an artist ever since. I love the way watercolor can be both delicate and creative, and I enjoy the creative freedom it offers.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of The Pollard Gallery and to share my love of watercolor painting with fellow artists and the community.
