Join us this Saturday, September 5, for a Kennebunk Beach Walking Tour and discover the history hiding along one of Kennebunk’s most beloved stretches of coastline.

Beginning at Trinity Chapel, this outdoor walking tour takes you past 11 historic homes as we share their stories and explore what life was like at Mothers Beach in the early 20th century.

We're so happy to announce that all profits from your donations and purchases during the month of September will go to Cornerstone VNA, the Brick Store Museum and the Child Advocacy Center of Rockingham County.

Cornerstone VNA has been providing home health care, around the Seacoast, since 1913. Brick Store Museum hosts rotating exhibits in its six galleries in Kennebunk, Maine. The Child Advocacy Center provides a safe, neutral environment and team approach for the investigation of alleged child abuse in Rockingham County.

Did you know that every teacher in York County is eligible for a FREE MEMBERSHIP to the Brick Store Museum?

In addition to our Educator Resource page on our website, the Museum is proud to offer educators free Museum membership. Their work has lasting effects on students’ abilities to understand the world. This opportunity is offered to all York County teachers (preschool through Grade 12). Not only are teachers the conduits of knowledge for the next generation of lifelong learners (and museum-goers!), but this small effort for teachers aligns with the Museum's commitment to community engagement, personal connections and providing access to all.

Take a look! Maine Historical Society's statewide tour of the Dunlap Broadside of the Declaration of Independence continues!

More than 4,500 people have come out to see the Declaration during the first four stops: Maine Maritime Museum (Sagadahoc); Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences (Lincoln); the Brick Store Museum (York); and Camden Public Library (Knox).

As our final Summer Intern wraps up today, we want to give a massive THANK YOU to the incredible trio who made this season so bright!✨

Since June, three talented student interns brought fresh energy, new perspectives, and tons of passion to our team:

Quinn Downing (UNE): Worked alongside our Education department to build engaging new lesson plans across multiple grade levels. 📚

Liza Page (UNH): Crafted compelling scripts and copy for two exciting community engagement projects launching this fall! ✍️

Bella Stobert (USM): Rolled up her sleeves in the vaults—cataloging collections and helping install upcoming exhibitions. 🖼️

Our long-running Internship Program aims to give hands-on experience to the next generation of history, art, archaeology, and education professionals. They inspire us just as much as we teach them.

"Maine by Hand: Glass" is the next installment in our year-long contemporary craft series. Running from August 22 through October 4, 2026, this exhibition in the Bauman Family Gallery showcases the exceptional glassmaking of York County artists Lee Gordon () of Kittery and Karen Gola (Gola Glass) of Sanford.

This showcase is part of "Maine by Hand: Contemporary Craft in York County," an exhibition series running from April through November 2026. The series is produced in partnership with Handwork: Celebrating American Craft 2026, a nationwide semiquincentennial initiative honoring the vital role of the handmade in American life. While celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary, the project also marks a profound return to the Brick Store Museum’s founding DNA, highlighting the immense skill found across York County today while honoring a local legacy of craft education that dates back nearly a century.

🚨Have you seen "Results of Revolution: From Many One" yet? ⏰

This special exhibition featuring both art and history reflecting on personal experiences during the Revolutionary period and where we are 250 years later. Open since May, this exhibition will close on Sunday, August 23 - don't miss your chance to experience it!

This exhibition was brought to life thanks to the support of many organizations, including the Americana Foundation, Maine Arts Commission, Kennebunk Savings, Maine Semiquincentennial Commission, and the many artists sharing their incredible works with the public.
