Need a little relief? The latest painting of my favorite tree. Probably painted its image over a dozen times, this time in relief.
It’s difficult to photograph when a painting has dimensional detail so I included some alternate views. The tree lives at the base of the Devils Hole trail/stairway in the Niagara River.
“Scrapwood Forest Series: Devil’s Relief “ Acrylic on repurposed wood 24”x 13”x1.5”
Feel free to reach out for more details

Finally a new painting on wood.
“Scrapwood Forest Series: Last Drop”
25” x 12” acrylic on repurposed wood.
I have another one on the easel, stay tuned! Let me know if you’re interested in this piece, or now that I am caught up, available for commission work

Every day is Arbor Day at Stangler Fine Art! My next painting in progress. I took a different approach this time and have been enjoying figuring it out. I started with no idea or preconceived directions/preliminary drawings, just literally looked outside my window and start painting. Lots of graphic lines going in multiple directions from the trees and shadows on the white sunlit snow. I was working quite fast trying to capture the feeling before I get into the details. After this photo was taken, I realized this was the first time I’ve painted a tree that I had planted. We have planted more than 75 trees on our property and I always wanted to have a birch tree to look at for reference, and this one was right there. It was about 8” basically a twig, when it was planted and it now is about 20ft tall. My experiment of having no connection with what I am painting has failed….. I think in a good way. If you read this far, I haven’t thought of a title yet.

Finished a little acrylic painting “Yanty Creek, Hamlin State Park” while the sun was shining! A rare occurrence this winter, it might mean something, six more weeks of winter? This view is from the lookout off a trail we often take in the park. I’m pretty sure the beaver who has a dam upstream about a half mile or so, made an appearance.
Yes, it’s available and inexpensive. The size is 6 1/2” by 12” and I left the sides natural, unfinished. If you’re interested I can either put a wax finish on or paint it black/white….no extra. I have many works, priced for any budget, or I’ll create something that does. Drop me a message

“Sun Burn: Scrapwood Forest Series “
Just finished and looking for a new home. Second picture I took was at night and a little stream of light from the other room hit it just right. Had to take picture. Liked that! Message me for details. I’ll ship this anywhere in US for free.
