This September, Strawberry Hill Museum & Cultural Center invites guests to experience a unique behind-the-scenes event with our Special Pre/Post Olde World Christmas Dinner & Tour, offered for two Friday nights only. Have you ever visited during Olde World Christmas and wondered where all of the beautiful decorations, trees, and holiday treasures are stored throughout the year? This exclusive event gives you the rare opportunity to see the museum in a whole new way before the holiday magic begins.

Guests will enjoy a guided walk through the Victorian Home, exploring the rooms our dedicated volunteer decorators prepare each season. You’ll visit special areas not normally included on standard tours, including the upper-floor attic spaces such as the ballroom and Mrs. Cruise Scroggs’ studio, as well as the orphanage basement areas including the wading pool, laundry room, and kitchen once used by the nuns to prepare meals for the children. Along the way, you’ll see where each collection of decorations is carefully stored and learn how decorators choose themes and color schemes for each room.

Before the tour, guests will be treated to a delicious Ethnic dinner: Sarma (Croatian Cabbage roll), Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut, Hot German Potato Salad, Green Beans, Tossed Salad with a slice of Naglavena, Dinner roll and a slice of Povitica and Apple Strudel for dessert, complete with wine and beer, creating the perfect evening of history, holiday inspiration, and fellowship. As a special gift, each guest will receive two tickets to return during our beloved Olde World Christmas season to witness the full transformation and experience the breathtaking holiday displays our decorators create using these treasured collections.

Please note that due to the nature of this special behind-the-scenes tour, accessibility is limited. The tour includes steep staircases, attic spaces, basement areas, and sections of the museum that are not wheelchair or walker accessible. We appreciate your understanding as we work within the historic structure of the museum.
